Pharrell Williams Bio

Pharrell Williams, born Pharrell Lanscilo Williams on April the 5th 1973 in Virginia is an American singer, producer, songwriter and rapper. Forming the Neptunes alongside old friend Chad Hugo, they were best known initially for producing music for the likes of Britney Spears and Jay-Z. Then creating music under the name of N.E.R.D With Hugo and Shay Haley, the trio found success from 1999 onwards.

Widely known for working with Hans Zimmer on the film Despicable Me’s soundtrack, he became well known as a solo artist for his work with Daft Punk’s album, especially the song Get Lucky, an international hit. He then followed this up with Robin Thicke’s now infamous Blurred Lines before creating the song Happy for the soundtrack of Despicable Me 2, the song would then go on to launch him into immense stardom.
