The Avett Brothers Bio

The Avett Brothers is an alternative country and folk-rock band formed in 2000 Concord, North Carolina by brothers Seth Avett and Scott Avett, along with upright bassist Bob Crawford. They released a number of independent and live albums, such as their self-titled debut (2000) and “Country Was” (2002), and kept touring the United States within recording sessions. The full-length studio album “Emotionalism” reached the Billboard 200 in 2007 and earned them a record deal with a Columbia subsidiary, which oversaw the production of their 2009 top 20 albums “I and Love and You”. The group has performed live shows and high profile events like the Grammy Awards alongside Bob Dylan, Mumford and Sons, the Dave Matthews Band, and Brandi Carlile, and has released 8 more studio and live albums between 2008 and 2019.
