Celeste Bio

Soul singer Celeste, originally Celeste Epiphany Waite, is a 25-year old American born artist with Jamican-Britsh roots. She was born on May 5, 1994 and moved to Dagenham, England with her mother at the age of three then moved to Brighton, England at age five. Completely self-taught with no formal training, by age sixteen, she began to release her own songs on YouTube where her alluring voice landed her sessions at Sarm West Studios in Notting Hill, England by a potential manager. Celeste began to gradually release music in 2017 where she was signed by Lily Allen to her label, Bank Holiday Records. This is where Celeste released her debut EP, ‘The Milk & Honey’ including her single ‘Daydreaming’, which she wrote while working at a pub. She then released ‘Lately’ in 2018 and ‘Compilation 1.1’ in 2019. 

Her enticing and sultry voice has landed her two major awards; The BRIT Awards, ‘Brit Award for Rising Star’ and BBC’s Music Sound of 2020. She has gained recognition from major celebrities such as Elton John who stated “She is something else… watch out for her” and James Corden who tweeted in 2018 about her track ‘Strange’, “I cannot stop listening… I dare you not to love her”. BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac says ‘Her songwriting is personal and poignant but with universal appeal. I think she could easily join the long list of Sound Of winners who went on to be global stars.” and is featured on GQ’s 2020 Hot List. Her voice has taken the music industry by storm and has supported Janelle Monae, Michael Kiwanuka and Neneh Cherry live in 2019.
