Taio Cruz, short for Jacob Taio Cruz is a British rapper, songwriter, singer and music producer. He was born Adetayo Ayowale Onile-Ere, on the 23rd of April, 1985, in London, U.K. He joined Tricky Stewart’s writing group, called RedZone Entertainment and in 2005, he was awarded a Brit Award for his work on the single “Your Game” by Will Young. A year later, he signed a deal with Universal Music Group. His career rocketed and he began to make high profile collaborations with the likes of Justin Bieber, Kylie Minogue, Usher and Ke$ha among many others. In 2008, he released his debut album “Departure” which was written, produced and arranged by him. The album was certified gold in the U.K. and it earned him a MOBO nomination. In 2009, he released his second album “Rokstarr” which was also a huge success, soon followed by his third album, “TY. O”.
