Corey Taylor Bio
Corey Todd Taylor is an American singer, songwriter, and actor, born on December 8, 1973, in Des Moines, Iowa. He is the lead vocalist of Slipknot and Stone Sour. He is also known as The Grim Chopper and The Boogie Knight. He has worked with other bands including Disturbed, Korn, Apocalyptica, Soulfly, and Anthrax. He is also known for wearing a mask on stage.
He is the founding member of Stone Sour and has released 6 studio albums with them. He joined Slipknot in 1997 as a replacement to their original singer, Anders Colsefini, after being invited by Shawn Crahan, Mick Thomson, and Joey Jordison. He was ranked number 86 in Hit Parader’s Top 100 Metal Vocalists of All Time. Before joining Slipknot he worked at a sex shop to earn money. Some of his collaborative works include the albums Primitive, Soularium, New Found Power, Rise Above, The Serenity of Suffering, Give the Drummer Some, and many more. He has appeared in a couple of films including Bullied, and Fear Clinic. He has also been honored by NME as the 7th greatest heavy metal frontman.
