Roni Size is the stage name of Ryan Granville, an English DJ and electronic music producer, mostly known for his drum & bass, and jungle mix sets. He was born Ryan Owen Granville Williams on the 29th of October, 1969, in Bristol, England, in a Jamaican family. His musical heritage was very present when growing up, and he would listen to the likes of Bob Marley & The Wailers and other reggae legends. In the early 1990s, Owen and Chris Lewis launched the record label WTP as a branch of Circus Wrap. In 1997, he gained worldwide fame when his musical collective Roni Size & Reprazent, won the Mercury Prize for their debut album “New Forms”. In 2002, Granville released his debut solo album as Roni Size, “Touching Down”. He released two more solo albums in 2014, he has also released several albums in collaborations with Reprazent and with Breakbeat Era. He has performed at major music festivals like Coachella.
