Eve is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, and actress born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 10, 1978. She is best known for her roles in the Barbershop films, and for her role in the UPN show Eve. She is also a host on the daytime talk show The Talk. She started her music career appearing on the Bulworth soundtrack as Eve of Destruction. In 1999 she released her debut studio album titled Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders’ First Lady. The album reached number one on the Billboard 200 record chart and was certified 2x Platinum in the United States and Gold in Canada. She has since released the albums Scorpion, Eve-Olution, and Lip Lock. In 2002 she made her debut in film in the movie XXX and continued landing roles in the films Barbershop, The Cookout, Whip It, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, Flashbacks of a Fool, The Woodsman, Bounty Killer, Animal and more. She landed her first role in a television show in 2003 in the series Third Watch and has since had roles in the shows Eve, One on One, Glee, Single Ladies, Whitney, Jane the Virgin and others. Throughout her career she has been nominated for a number of awards and has won a Grammy Award, four Teen Choice Awards, a Soul Train Award, an MTV Video Music Award among others.
