April Danielle Ryan is an American author, news presenter, former White House correspondent, and TV personality best known for her work in the political world. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, United States, on September 5, 1967.
April is best known for her time as a White House correspondent and Washington Bureau Chief for the media network The Grio from 1997 to 2020, but she is also known for her appearances on news and political TV shows. She has been a recurring figure on the TV shows Reliable Sources, Real Time with Bill Maher, CNN Newsroom, CNN Tonight, Erin Burnett OutFront, New Day, The Real, and The Situation Room.
April has authored the books Black Women Will Save the World, At Mama's Knee, Under Fire, and The Presidency in Black and White.
