Clarence Cummings Jr., widely known as CJ Cummings, is a professional athlete and weightlifter born on June 6, 2000, in Beaufort, South Carolina, USA. He became the youngest lifter to complete a clean & jerk of twice his body weight (200lbs) at age 11. At 12, he became the youngest to compete and win a silver medal at the Men's American Open.
CJ won the Best Overall Lifter at the 2013 Youth Pan Americans. The same year, USA Weightlifting declared him "the strongest 13-year-old in the world." He broke the Men's 62kg American Clean and Jerk Record with his lift of 153 kg (337 lbs) at the 2014 USA Weightlifting National Championships.
CJ was the youngest lifter to compete in any weight class at the 2015 World Championships. In 2019, he became the first weightlifter of any nation or gender to win four consecutive Junior World titles. He represented the United States at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
