Ryan Crouser, also known as RC23, The Union, is a professional athlete born on December 18, 1992, in Portland, Oregon, USA. In 2009, he won a gold medal in the shot put and a silver medal in the discus throw at the World Youth Championships in Bressanone. In 2012, he won the Big 12 Indoor Freshman of the Year Award, and the Big 12 Shot Put Indoor Championship.
While with the Texas Longhorns, Ryan was a nine-time USTFCCCA first-team All-American, two-time USTFCCCA second-team All-American, and the 2014 USTFCCCA Men's National Field Event Athlete of the Year. He has represented the United States at the Olympic Games, winning a gold medal for the shot put at the 2016 and 2020 Games.
Ryan has won two gold medals each at the USATF Toyota Indoor and Outdoor Championships. He won a gold medal at the 2022 World Championship. He became the third-best shot putter in history with a massive 23.01m/75-6 in May 2021.
