Josh Lawson Bio

Josh Lawson is an Australian actor and writer who was born on July 22, 1981, in Queensland. He attended and graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 2001. Lawson is known for his roles in 2014’s movie “The Little Death” and 2021’s film “Mortal Kombat”. On the television field, he got his debut in 1997 on “The Wayne Manifesto”, where he played the role of Trevor for a total amount of two episodes. Amongst others, he performed as Able Seaman Toby ‘Chefo’ Jones on 13 episodes of “Sea Patrol”, Lachie Davis on “The Librarians” and Carmichael Chandon on “Chandon Pictures”. On the film field, he performed as Paul on “The Little Death”, a movie he directed and wrote and was released in 2014. In 2019, he was cast to play the role of Kano in the reboot “Mortal Kombat”, and the movie was released in 2021. Lawson was nominated for Best Live Action Short Film at the Oscars for the short he wrote and starred in, "The Eleven O’Clock”, in 2016.
