Vaughn Gittin Jr. Bio

Vaughn Gittin, Jr. (born 20 September 1980, in Joppa, Maryland), popularly known as JR, is an American self-taught professional drifter most renowned for competing in the Formula D series in his 2013 Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Racing Mustang RTR. He is the only American to win a D1 Grand Prix event twice (2005 and 2007).

His aggressive, foot to the floor, big smoke driving style, makes him a tough competitor to beat. In 2010, Vaughn earned his first Formula Drift Championship, becoming the second-ever Champion with a strictly-drifting background. In 2011, he won China's premier drift series, WDS, and in 2012, claimed the second spot overall.

On August 4, 2014, Vaughn announced his NASCAR Canadian Tire Series debut at Circuit Trois-Rivières in the No. 9 for Micks Motorsports. Besides racing, Vaughn has also featured in movies including Mustang Drift (2009), Need for Speed (2014), and Jinn (2014). He is also the creator of Mustang RTR, his version of a new generation of Mustang.
