Chris Harris (born January 27, 1975 in United Kingdom) is a renowned British automotive journalist, television presenter, and racing driver. Harris has worked as a writer, editor and reviewer for several high-end magazines including Autocar, Evo, and Jalopnik.
Harris began his career in the automotive industry and worked for the ‘Autocar’ magazine, taking on various simple tasks. Soon, he was promoted to a road-test editor and allotted the task of writing automotive reviews and regular opinion columns. In 2008, Harris left ‘Autocar’ magazine and co-founded a web-based digital platform called ‘Drivers Republic’.
Unfortunately, the platform shut down a year later and Harris joined the ‘Evo’ magazine as a writer and reviewer. He published his first article on October 12, 2009 and partnered with popular YouTube channel and automotive network, DRIVE, to create an opinion and review YouTube series called Chris Harris on Cars. The series aired consistently until Harris left the network in 2014 and created his own YouTube channel called Chris Harris on Cars.
Besides running his YouTube channel, Harris also worked as a presenter for many television series. He was one of the three lead presenters of the TV series ‘Top Gear’. He has also appeared on the American TV channel ‘NBCSN’ where he reviews cars as well as comments and participates in other automotive related activities.
