Terri J. Vaughn is an actress born on 16th October 1969 in San Francisco, California. She is widely recognized for playing Lovita Alizay Jenkins-Robinson, a high school secretary, in the sitcom “The Steve Harvey Show” from 1997 to 2002. She won the NAACP Image Award in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in the series. She began her career in 1993 with the television series “Living Single” and “The Sinbad Show”.
She made her film debut in the same year with the musical comedy film “Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit”, playing the role of a student. In 2002, she appeared in the drama series “Soul Food”, for which she was nominated for the NAACP Image Award in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. In 2007, she appeared in Tyler Perry-written and directed film “Daddy’s Little Girls”. The film also featured Gabrielle Union.
