Jane Fonda Bio
Jane Fonda is an American actress, former model, writer, and producer born in New York City, New York on December 21, 1937. Before launching her acting career she worked as a model and appeared on the cover of Vogue twice. She made her theater debut in 1960 in the Broadway play There Was a Little Girl. That same year she made her debut in film in the movie Tall Story. She has since had roles in the films Walk on the Wild Side, Period of Adjustment, Cat Ballou, Any Wednesday, Hurry Sundown, Barefoot in the Park Klute, Julia, Coming Home, The China Syndrome, On Golden Pond and more. In 1961 she made her debut on television in the TV movie A String of Beads and continued landing roles in the television movies and shows Password, 9 to 5, The Dollmaker, The Newsroom, Grace and Frankie, Elena of Avalor and others. In 1982 she released her first exercise video titled Jane Fonda’s Workout. It became the highest-selling VHS of all time. She released 22 more workout videos that collectively sold over 17 million copies worldwide. Throughout her career she has won four Golden Globe Awards, two Academy Awards, one Primetime Emmy Award and more. In 2008 she was inducted into the California Hall of Fame.
