Doc Rivers Bio
Doc Rivers is a basketball coach and former player born on 13th October 1961 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. He is currently the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, which competes in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Rivers played High School basketball for Proviso East High School. He later went to Marquette University, where he continued playing basketball. He started his professional career with the Atlanta Hawks after being selected in the second round with the 31st overall pick of the 1989 NBA draft.
He went on to play for Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks, and San Antonio Spurs. Doc started his career as a coach in 1999 with the Orlando Magic. A year later, he was named the Coach of The Year after an outstanding season with the Magic. In 2003, he was fired by the Magic and went on to become a commentator for NBA on ABC. In 2004, he became the head coach of the Boston Celtics. In 2013, he joined Los Angeles Clippers. Seven years later, he joined the Philadelphia 76ers.
