Born in 1964, Reverend “Rev. Run” Joseph Ward Simmons is a practicing minister who has had a deep impact on the rap community. The multi-talented reverend DJs, raps, starred in MTVs show “Run’s House”, and is a New York-native rapper. He is also famously known for being in Run-D.M.C., a massively popular hip-hop group in the 1990s. Run-D.M.C. was formed in 1983 and is signed to Arista/BMG and Profile record labels. Run-D.M.C. has released seven albums including their self-titled album in 1984, King of Rock in 1985, Raising Hell in 1986, Tougher Than Leather in 1988, Back from Hell in 1990, Down with the King in 1993, and Crown Royal 2001.
