James Tillman Bio
James Tillman is an American is an R&B soul singer, songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist from Washington, D.C.. Tilllman released his first debut EP titled ‘Shangri La’ in 2014 which received attention on its release from airplay on Gilles Peterson’s BBC 6 program. Tillman did not release his debut album until 2016 titled ‘Silk Noise Reflex’, a sleek soul album that gained huge recognition in Japan where he eventually headlined a show in Tokyo. The album was produced by Beau Sorenson who has mixed music for Death Cab for Cutie, Carlos Arredondo who was the master enginer and Merrill Garbus, the executive producer. His song ‘Casual Encounters’ increased his fan base and was featured on Netflix show, ‘Dear White People’. ‘Casual Encounters’ currently has 4 million plays on Spotify.
