Kaytranada, born Louis Kevin Celestin (August 25, 1992), is a Canadian-Haitian producer and DJ. The now 27 year old began to produce music at the age of 14 in his bedroom alongside his brother. First starting his DJ career under the name Kaytradamus, he released a number of digital EP’s and remix albums. It was in 2013 that he began to perform as Kaytranada. He signed with XL Recordings in 2014 and released his debut album in 2016, ‘99.9%’ featuring R&B artists such as Anderson .Paak, GoldLink, Syd tha Kyd and Vic Mensa amongst many others. The dance hip-hop album ‘99.9%’ won the 2016 Polaris Music Prize for Canadian Album of the Year. In the following year, Kaytranada won Electronic Album of the Year for ‘99.9%’. After the success of his debut, he began to produce for The Internet, Anderson .Paak, Katy B, Snoop Dogg and many more. In 2017, he won Artist of the Year at the Canadian Independent Music Awards. Kaytranada moved to recording label RCA in 2018, releasing ‘Nothing Like U/Chances’ a short EP featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Shay Lia. In 2019, Kaytranada released ‘Bubba’, his second studio album featuring Masego, Teedra Moses, Kali Uchis and Pharrell Williams amongst many more contributors. The young DJ has 4.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
