DeVon Franklin is an American movie producer and Christian preacher born in San Francisco in 1978. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 2000 and began to work at Overbrook Entertainment, where he started a long-time professional relationship with Will Smith. Franklin then climbed up the ladder of Hollywood movie production, eventually becoming a high-profile executive at Columbia Pictures in 2005. While holding this position, he supervised box-office hits like "The Karate Kid", and Will Smith’s movies “The Pursuit of Happiness” and “Hancock.” Franklin then focused on producing faith-oriented movies, achieving an unexpected box-office success with “Heaven Is For Real” and “Annie.” In 2014 he started his own production company, releasing the hit film “Miracles From Heaven” two years later, featuring stars like Jennifer Garner, Queen Latifah, Kylie Rogers. This movie also won a Teen Choice Award and was nominated for a People’s Choice Award. Franklin’s work as a preacher has been showcased in high-demand TV shows like “The Dr. Oz Show,” “Dr. Phil,” and “Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday.” Co-authoring with his wife Meagan Good, Franklin has written two best-selling books: “Produced By Faith” and “The Wait.”
