Olivia Wilde Bio

Actress Olivia Wilde, born March 10th 1984 in New York, studied acting at the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin. Olivia appeared in the TV series Skin, before landing the role of Alex in the popular series The O.C. Wilde’s success on The O.C. made her a hot commodity, which she used to her advantage. The actress developed an extensive resume with a variety of roles, including The Black Donnellys, TRON: Legacy, Butter, In Time, The Next Three Days, Cowboys & Aliens, The Words, Robot Chicken, Drinking Buddies, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Rush, and Deadfall. Olivia snagged a coveted role in House M.D., and went on to appear in other shows including Portlandia, Doll & Em, Vinyl, BoJack Horseman, and Escape from Virtual Island. The multi-talented actress headed off to Broadway, starring in 1984 as Julia, and made her directorial debut in the beloved movie Booksmart. Olivia won a Breakthrough Director of the Year CinemaCon Award for Booksmart, and the movie won a Best First Film AFCC Special Award.
