Victoria Arlen is an American TV personality, sports commentator, and former paralympic swimmer who was born on September 26, 1994, in Exeter, New Hampshire. At just eleven years old she developed transverse myelitis and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis which quickly led her into a vegetative state. She recovered over 4 years later at the age of 16 and had to learn how to talk and walk again.
She soon started her swimming career and by 2012, just two years after regaining consciousness, she managed to break a world record at that year's Summer Paralympics US swimming trial, thanks to which she qualified to 2012 London’s Summer Paralympics. There, she won one gold and three silver medals. A year later, she was deemed as not disabled enough and she was banned from competing in the Paralympics. In 2015 she joined ESPN and began a career as a sportscaster. She also participated in the 25th season of “Dancing with The Stars” alongside Valentin Chmerkovsky and became “American Ninja Warrior Junior” co-host in 2020.
