Makaya McCraven Bio
Makaya McCraven is an American drummer and bandleader who performs jazz, pop-rock, and hip-hop music. He was born in Paris, France, on October 19, 1983. Makaya began playing drums for his father’s ensemble Makaya McCraven at the age of five, but in 2008, he released his official debut studio project GMG with Greg Spero and Graham Czach. His discography includes the singles Autumn In New York, Black Rhythm Happening, Twelve Donkeys, Inner Flight, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, and the albums Split Decision, Universal Beings, and Deciphering The Message. Makaya has performed at numerous international events including Flow Festival, Jazzfest Berlin, Southern Soul Festival, and Le Guess Who.
