Joe Flacco is an American professional football player born in Audubon, New Jersey on January 16, 1985. He is currently a quarterback for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League. Flacco played football in high school at Audubon High School in Audubon, New Jersey. He went on to play college football at the University of Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgh Panthers from 2003 to 2004 and the University of Delaware for the Fightin’ Blue Hens from 2006 to 2007. In 2008 he was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round, 18th overall, in the 2008 NFL Draft. He signed a five-year contract worth $30 million with $8.75 million guaranteed. He made his NFL debut in the season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. In 2009 he was named the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year. Flacco became a Super Bowl champion in the 2012 season when the Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 in Super Bowl XLVII. He was named the games Most Valuable Player. In 2013 he was signed to a six-year contract with the Ravens worth $120.6 million and in 2016 signed a three-year extension. In 2019 he was traded to the Denver Broncos for their fourth round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
