Asphyx Bio
Asphyx is a Dutch death metal band founded in 1987 in Overijssel, the Netherlands.
Bob Bagchus and Tonny Brookhuis founded the band in 1987. Eric Daniels was brought in as a second guitarist, and Chuck Colli joined on vocals and bass guitar; this lineup recorded the Enter the Domain demo.
Colli was replaced by Theo Loomans in March 1989, and the band produced the Crush the Cenotaph demo. Brookhuis later quit the band, and the surviving three members released Embrace the Death.
Martin van Drunen joined Asphyx after leaving Pestilence in the early 1990s, and the band signed to Century Media Records.
