Buck Meek is an American musician born July 10, 1987, from Wimberley, Texas, USA. He is best known as the guitarist and backing vocalist of Big Thief. In his early life, he played the guitar at a young age, playing blues and folk at local venues. In 2014, he released two EPs with Adrianne Lenker. Not long after that, he created an indie rock band, Big Thief, together with Adrienne Lenker (guitarist and vocalist), Max Oleartchik (bassist), and James Krivchenia (drums). Two years later, the band released their first album Masterpiece in 2016. After their successful first album, they released Capacity in 2017. American magazine SPIN named Capacity second on the list 50 Best Albums of 2017. Song Mary from that album was one of the most popular songs and was given 44th place on Pitchfork's 200 Best Songs of the 2010s list. Two albums, U.F.O.F. and Two Hands were released in 2019. U.F.O.F. was nominated for the Best Alternative Music Album for the 2020 Grammy Awards. After the band released a few singles in 2021, they revealed their plans for releasing the album at the beginning of 2022 and for tour dates.
