Derek Wilson is an American actor who was born on July 19, 1982, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He majored in theater at Western Kentucky University and then moved to New York where he worked as a sound designer for Shakespeare plays and graduated with an MFA on the acting program of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. He debuted as an actor in 2008 when he participated playing Derek on the tv series “In the Now”. He then appeared on different tv series and short films such as “The Good Wife” and “Person of Interest”. He started to become more popular when he appeared on two episodes of the tv show “Rectify” in 2013 but his career took off when he played Donnie Schenck in the series “Preacher” in 2016. In 2017 he became part of the regular cast of the series “Future Man” alongside Josh Hutcherson and Eliza Coupe. That year he also starred in the comedy film “Life Hack” opposite Jessica Copeland and Sean Kleiner. For this role, he was awarded an honorable mention at the Long Island International Film Expo.
