Dieter Bohlen is a songwriter, producer, and television personality born on February 7, 1954, in Oldenburg, Germany. He began learning how to play the guitar after listening to a Beatles album. Bohlen played for local bands for several years before being offered to write and produce songs for Intersong in 1979. He wrote songs for artists like Katya Ebstein, Roland Kaiser, Bernd Kluver, and Bernhard Brink. From 1983 to 1987, he was part of a duo called Modern Talking with Thomas Anders. He left the band and embarked on a solo career under the name Blue System. Bohlen reunited with Anders to reform Modern Talking in 1998. They separated once more, with their last album, Universe, released in 2003. In 2002, he became one of the judges of the reality talent show, Deutschland sucht den Superstar. He is also one of the judges for the series, Das Supertalent.
