Kelly Slater Bio
Robert Kelly Slater was born on February 11, 1972, in Florida’s Cocoa Beach city. He grew up spending most of his time at the beach, where he practiced his passion for surfing. Recognized as a talented surfer, he started to appear in surfing magazines in 1990. As a famous professional surfer, he is known to have won the ‘ASP World Tour’ 11 times. He also won the Mark Richards’ record five years. He followed with several wins at championships, such as the “Boost Mobile Pro” where he broke Tim Curran’s record, “Billabong Pro”, and “Rip Curl Pro”. The athlete has other interests including music and films. He appeared in 37 movies and documentaries such as Surf’s Up, Endless Summer II. He also appeared in the famous television show ‘Baywatch’. He also wrote an autobiography titled ‘Pipe Dreams: A Surfer’s Journey’, and published a book titled, ‘Kelly Slater: For the Love’ in collaboration with the Australian surfer and writer, Phil Jarratt. He is involved in humanitarian and environmental causes and participates actively in the organization ‘Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’.
