The Dresden Dolls Bio

The Dresden Dolls is a musical duo of Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione. Established in 2001, the Dresden Dolls prefer a musical style that combines alternative pop-rock with Weimar-era German cabaret. They started performing in Boston, Massachusetts and later moved to New York, where their energy and enthusiasm played a crucial role in their popularity in the musical scene.

The Dresden Dolls released their first live EP titled “A Is for Accident” in 2003. They released their self-titled debut album the following year, which included the single “Coin-Operated Boy” on the Roadrunner Records label. This was followed by a new album, “Yes, Virginia…” In 2006, they release a new single, “Sing,” which ranked number 42 on The Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. The Dresden Dolls had sold more than 240,000 records before the “No, Virginia…” album.
