Jonathan Kweku Awote-Mensah, better known by his stage name JAE5, is an English-Ghanaian music producer and sound engineer best known for his work with hip-hop and afro-fusion music. He was born in Plaistow, Newham, England, on March 27, 1992. JAE5 began working with British hip-hop artists in 2015, but he became famous in 2017 when he produced J Hus’ album Common Sense. He has since produced music for numerous top artists including Dave, Skepta, NSG, Koffee, Mark Ronson, and Burna Boy. JAE5 has won multiple awards for his music production work including two MOBO Awards for Producer of the Year and a Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album.
