Ederson Santana de Moraes, or simply Ederson, is a Brazilian professional soccer player who currently plays as goalkeeper for the English Premier League team Manchester City and the Brazilian national team. Ederson was born on 17th August 1993 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He began his football career at a youth setup of Sao Paulo FC before moving to Benfica. He spent two years at the junior side before joining the Primeira Liga team Rio Ave, officially signing a contract with them in 2012. He received a call up to the under-23 national team following a series of impressive performances.
Ederson joined the Portuguese side Benfica in June 2015 on a five-year contract. In the 2016-2017 season, he helped Benfica win a treble. He joined Manchester City in June 2017. He kept the most clean-sheets in the 2019-2020 season and was awarded the Golden Glove. He made his debut for the national team in the 2018 World Cup Qualifier in 2017.
