James is an English Rock band formed in Manchester, England in 1982. They are best known for their hit singles “Come Home”, “Sit Down”, “Laid”, and “She’s a Star.” The current members of the band are Tim Booth on lead vocals, Jim Glennie on backing vocals and bass guitar, Adrian Oxaal on lead guitar and cell, Mark Hunter on keyboards and piano, Andy Diagram on trumpet and percussion, Saul Davies on guitars, violin, and percussion, and David Baynton-Power on drums. In 1986 they released their debut studio album titled Stutter and have since released the albums Strip-mine, Gold Mother, Seven, Laid, Wah Wah, Whiplash, Millionaires, Pleased to Meet You, Hey Ma, The Night Before, The Morning After, La Petite Mort, Girl at the End of the World, and Living in Extraordinary Times. They have also released five compilation albums and three live albums. James has released their music through the labels Factory, Sire, Rough Trade, Fontana, Mercury, Sanctuary, Decca, Cooking Vinyl, and BMG. Throughout their time together, they have been nominated for several awards and have won a UK Music Video Award and a Silver Clef Award.
