Eliane was born on the 19th of March 1960 in São Paulo, Brazil. Eliane was a child prodigy. She started playing piano when she was seven and by eleven, she was expertly transcribing solos of the great pianists and jazz masters. When she turned 15 she started teaching piano and jazz improvisation at CLAM, one of Brazil’s most prestigious music schools. Her career started very early. A couple of years into teaching at CLAM, she started working with Toquinho and Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Vinicius de Moraes, some of the greats of the Bossa Nova Brazilian music. In 2016 she won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album, in 2017 the Latin Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz/Jazz Album, five Gold Disc Awards and counting (Japan), three-time winner of the Best Vocal Album in Japan, and many other awards earned her a place in the class of the some of the music greats the world has ever seen.
