Esa Istrefi was born on the 4th of July 1994 in Yugoslavia and is an Albanian singer and songwriter. Born into a performing family, her mother was a popular singer and her debut came in her hometown with her hit song Mani per money. She became known amongst Albanian speaking audiences all over Europe and later throughout the world.
International recognition found the artist with her single BonBon, released in 2016 and drew comparisons to other artists such as Sia and Rihanna for its catchy sound and strong vocals. She then followed this hit with songs such as Redrum, No I Love Yous alongside French Montana and Origami, which released in 2018 and featured Maphorisa. So far in her young career she has won eight awards and been nominated or a further eight awards.
