Alina Baraz is an American musician born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 24, 1993. She started singing at a young age and was part of her church gospel choir. She made the move to Los Angeles, California at 19 years old to further her music career. She released her first song in 2013 titled “Roses Dipped in Gold” that she wrote and sang. In 2013 she wrote some lyrics for a song created by the popular electronic producer Galimatias and released it tilting it “Drift.” Galimatias heard the song and wanted to make more music with her. In 2015 they created and released the EP Urban Flora. It was originally released on Soundcloud but was commercially released later that year through Ultra Music. The EP reached number 111 on the US Billboard 200 and number 2 on the US Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart. In 2016 Baraz announced that she was working on a solo EP set to be released soon and in 2018 she released the EP titled The Color of You.
