Jamie T Bio
Jamie T, born Jamie Alexander Treays in Wimbledon, South London, is a British singer-songwriter currently signed to Virgin Records. His backing band is known as The Pacemakers, and they tour and release music as Jamie T and The Pacemakers. Jamie T has released three full-length albums under Virgin, starting with 2007’s Panic Prevention, which is certified Gold in the UK and hit number 4 on the UK charts. The follow-up album, 2009’s Kings and Queens peaked at number 2, while his latest album, 2014’s Carry on the Grudge hit number 4. He has also released an EP, 2006’s Betty and the Selfish Sons, under his own independent label, Pacemaker Records. His 2007 single “Calm Down Dearest”, off Panic Prevention, peaked at number 9 on the UK charts. Jamie T beat out Thom Yorke to win the Shockwave NME Award for Best Solo Artist in 2007.
