Eric Ripert is a French chef, author and television personality who was born on March 2nd 1965 in Antibes, France. He was born and raised in Antibes, and he attended the culinary school in Perpignan, France. One of his teachers was the great chef Jean-Louis Palladin whom Eric worked under at the Watergate Hotel in Washington DC.
Eric is famous as the chef and co-owner of the New York Restaurant Le Bernardin. He also partnered with the Ritz-Carlton hotel company to open Blue in Grand Cayman. He is Vice-chairman of the board of City harvest and also a recipient of the Legion d’Honneur, France’s highest honour. He hosts his own Emmy-award winning PBS TV series Avec Eric. Eric is also an author and has written five cookbooks which are Avec Eric (2010), On the Line (2008), A Return to Cooking (2002), Le Bernardin – Four Star Simplicity (1998) and My Best: Eric Ripert (2014).
