JaVale Lindy McGee is an American professional basketball player who plays as a center in the NBA. He was born in Flint, Michigan, United States, on January 19, 1988. JaVale spent his formative years playing for Detroit Country Day School, Providence Christian School, Hales Franciscan High School, and the University of Nevada. He turned professional in 2008 when he was selected by the Washington Wizards in the first round of the NBA Draft, and he has gone on to represent the Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, and Phoenix Suns. Throughout his career with the Golden State Warriors, JaVale won two NBA Championships playing alongside Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Chris Boucher, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant. His career highlights include multiple NBA Championships and gold with the United States at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
