Gocho “El Lapiz de Platino” is a Puerto Rican writer and producer of reggaeton and urban music. He was born into a family that was very involved in music. His grandfather owned Los Hispanos de Puerto Rico, which is one of the most renowned quartets in the country. His father was a great trombonist, his brother is a member of a band, and his aunt sang as backup for many popular artists. When he was 19, Gocho was enrolled in medical school but he then joined a friend who is a musician and decided to pursue a career in music. Gocho likes to stay in the studio as opposed to touring on stage. His song “Si Te Digo La Verdad” was one of the top songs in 2012. The second most popular song is 2012’s “Amor Real,” which featured Wayne Wonder.
