John Doe Bio

John Doe, born John Nommensen Duchac is an American alternative rock and country singer and songwriter who was born on February 25, 1953, in Decatur, Illinois. He became part of the punk band X in the early 80s but the band parted ways in 1988 giving John the chance to work on his acting career, which he had started in 1986. In 1989 he appeared on “Road House” and “Great Balls of Fire”. In 1990 he released his first solo album titled Meet John Doe, but it was not successful outside the previous X fanbase. The band began playing together again in 1992 and released a reunion album in 1993 called Hey Zeus!, after which John Doe released the solo album Kissingsohard in 1995. He then quit acting and focused completely on his solo career, publishing Freedom Is… in 2000 and many other albums up until 2016.
