Jordan Rudess Bio

Jordan Rudess, born Jordan Charles Rudess, is an American rock musician who was born on November 4, 1956, in Great Neck, New York. He is a very skilled keyboardist who, at just nine years old, was already training in classical piano at the pre-college division of Julliard School of Music. As he grew, he found himself more attracted to synthesizers and the sound of progressive rock. He participated in several musical projects during the decade of 1980 and was named Best New Talent by the Keyboard Magazine because of his solo album titled Listen, released in 1993. Due to this, he was invited to join The Dixie Dregs in 1994 as a part-time member. In 1999 he became a regular member of the band Dream Theater, with whom he released Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory that same year. His first classical composition was titled Explorations for Keyboard and Orchestra, which was released in 2001. He was also chosen as the Best Keyboardist of All Time by Music Radar Magazine.
