Joy Oladokun is a Nigerian-American singer/songwriter and producer who was born on April 6th 1992 in Casa Grande, Arizona, United States. She was born and raised in Arizona and is now based in Nashville.
In Joy’s childhood, her dad’s collection introduced her to tons of high-profile artists like Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, King Sunny Ade, Conway Twitty, and Johnny Cash. She soon learned how to play the classical piano and guitar and played for more than six years in her local Church. One of her first efforts was a short track about Lord of the Rings. Her debut album included the song No Turning Back. Her most popular albums include In Defense of My Own Happiness and Carry Me.
She also landed other high-profile gigs including one in NBC’s This is Us and Grey’s Anatomy. In June 2021 she appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
