Lennox Lewis is a Jamaican English boxer who was born on September 2, 1965, in Stratford, East London. In 1977 he moved to Kitchener, Ontario, where her mother had previously migrated. He studied at Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute where he became an excellent athlete in various disciplines including football, soccer, and basketball. Later in life, he decided to focus only on boxing, which had become his favorite sport. At the age of 17, he had already become an amateur boxer who managed to win the 1983 World Amateur Junior title. The following year he represented Canada at the Summer Olympics where he won a silver medal after losing against American Tyrell Biggs. As a super heavyweight, he won the gold medal in the 1988 Olympic Games held in Seoul. He also won the European title in 1990, the British Commonwealth Heavyweight in 1992, and the WBC Heavyweight Championship in 1993. However, the highlight of his career was in 2002 when he defeated Mike Tyson. He has the privilege to be one of the only three people in the world who won the heavyweight championship three times, alongside Muhammad Ali and Evander Holyfield.
