Lisa LeBlanc Bio

Lisa LeBlanc is a singer, songwriter, and banjoist born on August 13, 1990, in Rosaireville, New Brunswick, Canada. She calls her type of music trash-folk. She entered the musical space in 2012 with her hit single, Aujourd’hui, ma vie c’est d’la marde. Before this, she had won the Festival International de la Chanson in Granby two years before. In 2011, she played at the 2011 Coup de Cœur Francophone, at the FrancoFolies of Montreal, and at the Festival d'été de Québec.

Her self-titled debut album was released in 2013 under Bonsound Records, with Louis-Jean Cormier as the producer. The album peaked at number 8 in Canada and was certified platinum. Her second and third albums, Highways, Heartaches and Time Well Wasted (2014) and Why You Wanna Leave, Runaway Queen? (2014) both entered the Canadian Top 10 chart. The third album was shortlisted for the 2017 Polaris Music Prize.

The album featured the thrash-folk cover of Motörhead's Ace of Spades. Her latest album, Chiac Disco (March 2022) peaked at number 24 in Canada. She has received awards in Canada, France, and Belgium. Lisa has played in Switzerland and Canada.
