Lost Dog Street Band is an American Bluegrass duo formed in 2010 by Benjamin Tod (from Tennessee) and Ashley Mae (from South Dakota) in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. Tod plays the guitar and does the vocal while Mae plays the fiddle. The band was named after their yellow Labrador, Daisy.
Initially, the duo was a part of Barefoot Surrender before disbanding in January 2011. They formed a quartet, Spit Shine, with Nicholas and Shannon Jae Ridout. However, when Spit Shine ended, Tod and Mae restarted their band. They crowdfunded their albums through Indiegogo and Kickstarter and self-published their music videos on the YouTube channel GemsOnVHS.
The band toured and released their fifth studio album, Weight of a Trigger, in 2019. The album peaked at number five on the Billboard Bluegrass Album chart in April 2019. Before this album, they had released Sick Pup (2011), Life's a Dog-gone Shame (2013), Homeward Bound (2015), and Rage and Tragedy (2016). In 2021, they released The Magnolia Sessions, and they released Glory, a searing testament to recovery, redemption, and resolve, in 2022.
