Silvana Estrada (born April 15, 1998, in Mexico) is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter from Veracruz, Mexico. Her songs reflect a smooth blend of North and Latin American musical traditions with the African-influenced son jarocho heritage of her native Veracruz.
From the time she could talk, Velacriz had been surrounded by music. Her earliest inspirations were son jarocho progenitor Violeta Parra, ranchera songwriter Jose Alfredo Jimenez, and jazz singers Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan. At 13, Silvana was performing at local bars, and at 16, she was accepted into the university jazz studies program at Universidad Veracruzana in Xalapa
In 2016, Silvana met, studied, and teamed with guitarist Charlie Hunter in Guadalajara while she learned Jazz. Hunter produced and played on Silvana’s self-recorded digital debut album, Lo Sagrado, in 2017.
While coming up, Silvana issued solo tracks including "Al Norte," "Te Guardo," and "Sabré Olvidar," to social media. The posts garnered millions of streams. In 2018, Estrada released her EP, Primeras Canciones while in 2020, Silvana became the first Latin American artist to sign to Glassnote Entertainment. She released her first full-length label debut, Marchita, in January 2022.
She has performed live with Natalia Lafourcade, Mon Laferte, and Snarky Puppy.
