Simian Mobile Disco is the stage name of English electronic music duo of DJs and producers James Ford and Jas Shaw. They began performing together in the electronic music scene of London, impressing the public by their never ending swifting genres, moving effortlessly from rock to electronica, passing through dance music. They had already released a string of singles displaying their particular sounds before Wichita Recordings signed them to record the album “Attack Decay Sustain Release”. They became worldwide known when cult band Justice remixed their single “We Are Your Friends”. They have collaborated with artists like Alexis Taylor from Hot Chip, Chris Keating from Yeasayer and Gruff Rhys among many others. One of their most successful albums was “Unpatterns”, an unapologetic exploration of groove hugely popular in clubs. The duo is known for their use of technology, boldly mixing old Italian synths with modern DJ sets.
