Samantha June Mewis, better known as Sam Mewis, is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder in the world’s top women’s league. She was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, United States, on October 9, 1992. Samantha began her soccer career in 2005 when she joined the youth setup at Scorpions SC, and after playing for Whitman Hanson Regional High School, Boston Breakers Academy, and the University of California, she turned professional in 2013 when she signed her first senior contract with Pali Blues. Samantha has since represented Western New York Flash, North Carolina Courage, Manchester City, North Carolina Courage, and Kansas City Current, and throughout her time with Manchester City, Samantha played alongside Abby Dahlkemper, Ellen White, Rose Lavelle, Alex Greenwood, and Lucy Bronze. Her career highlights include the Women's FA Cup, NWSL Champion, FIFA Women's World Cup, NWSL Best XI, and U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year.
