Maria Celeste Arrarás is a Puerto Rican television personality, broadcast journalist, and author born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on September 27, 1960. She is currently the host and managing editor of the television show Al Rojo Vivo con Maria Celeste. She started her career in broadcasting in 1986 after getting a job as a news anchor and reporter at the local Puerto Rican television station Channel 24. In 1987 she was hired by Univision and became Los Angeles Bureau Chief. The network moved to Miami in 1990 and she became the national news anchor for Noticiero Univision weekend edition. In 2002 she left Univision and started working for Telemundo and started working as the host and managing editor of the show Al Rojo Vivo con Maria Celeste. In 1997 she published her first book titled Selena’s Secret: The Revealing Story Behind Her Tragic Death and has since released the books The Magic Cane and Make Your Life Prime Time: How to Have It All Without Losing Your Soul. Throughout her career she has won three Emmy Awards for Journalism, a Genesis Award for her outstanding work in raising awareness of animal protection issues, a PETA Humanitarian Award for her dedication to animal rights campaigns around the world and many more awards and honors.
